'16-Bit Visions'

Simple explanation:

A custom coded lighting installation that is controlled by an audio input.

Less simple explanation:

16-Bit visions, as in the name, has 16 separate LEDPAR64 lights that are housed in custom frames, built at Ball State University's IDIA Lab. The lights are daisy-chained together and set to separate DMX addresses that are used to identify and control each light independantly in Max/MSP. Using a series of audio filters and amplitude gates, each light is assigned to a frequency range and it's amplitude determines brightness. The colors are all within a pre-assigned range that oscillates rapidly between the extremities of the designated ranges.
