Andrew Hesik - Founder

Beginning his musical journey at the age of 10 with private drum lessons, Andrew's love of music started to grow at an exponential rate. From middle school to the end of high school, Andrew has performed in jazz bands, symphonic bands, marching bands, several honor bands, spent several years performing with a Louisville-local metal band, competed in ISSMA (for a total of 12 gold-medal performances and 2 silver-medal performances), and became accepted into Ball State University's School of Music under Dr. Erwin Mueller. There, he performed two full solo recitals on percussion (with a principle in Marimba and Drum Set), ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to develop his senior project (a custom performance interface), founded the Electronic Dance Music Collective, became the co-creative director of the Glue and Scissors Society, and began organizing local art and music festivals, all while developing his own musical productions.

Now, a graduate of Ball State University's Music Media Production department (specializing in interfacing, sound synthesis, and music production), Andrew continues to guide the EDMC in their endeavors, runs G&SS, works for Ball State University's Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts, composes electronic dance music and music for video games as Mephysto, and plays with his band, Dr. Boldylocks and the Twitter All-Stars. In his free time, he likes to ride his bike and sleep.
