'Rubix You' is an interactive video installation that uses a live video feed, a microphone input, and MIDI controls to create an engaging and humorous experience.

Using Jitter (in Max/MSP), the audio going into the microphone is rendered as a video window, showing the developing waveform; that window is then juxtaposed over the video feed of the user, thus requiring the user to make gratuitous amounts of sound, in order to see themselves. The MIDI controls offer the ability to relocated any panels on a 3x3 grid to any other point in the matrix, in addition to RGB color controls.

Requiring the user to not only make noise, but also focus on controlling the color pallet leaves no room for dignity when creating a video for themselves; it was deliberately designed that way to create a moment of good-humor and openness, as the installation is only ever showcased in a public setting.
